Classroom Management

Classroom Management Creed:

My Classroom Management Creed consists of five promises I will make to each of my future students. These promises guide my Classroom Management style and represent my beliefs.

  • I promise to be fully present with you, and to always listen.
  • I promise to remember you are dynamic and complicated, and I will never make assumptions about you as a group or as individuals.
  • I promise to be real, to laugh, and to admit and apologize when I make mistakes.
  • I promise to always respect you.
  • I promise to care about you.

Theoretical Foundation:

Win-Win Discipline is my favorite of the disciplines I studied while at Hope. It protects the momentum of class, the dignity of the student, and the respect of the teacher.

It is simple and straightforward. It is not condescending to the student, it is not tedious for the teacher, and it does not waste precious class time.

Rather, it handles the issue at hand, communicates to the student that they are valued and cared for, and opens the door for positive relationship building between the teacher and the student.

It also prepares the student to identify, regulate, and deal healthily with their emotions.
